
WELCOME to the General Public Information page of the
HOUSTON SAIL AND POWER SQUADRON
We are a member squadron of District/21 of the UNITED STATES POWER SQUADRONS (USPS)®.
As such, the HOUSTON SAIL AND POWER SQUADRON is non-profit, fraternal boating organization dedicated to educating the public in safe boating practices and furthering the safe and responsible enjoyment of both power boating and sailing on our waters.
Members participate in various organized recreational activites such a group cruises, rendezvous, picnics, and dinner meetings, as well as additional volunteer civic activities such as Cooperative Charting and voluntary Vessel Safety Inspections of boats owned by the public.

Boating educational opportunities
Two examples of the regularly taught public safe boating classes are the SQUADRON BOATING COURSE and the BOAT SMART classes. You can also see what was taught in our recent class called CHART SMART. We will teach it again soon and we will also soon be teaching GPS SMART.
Members have a wide variety of additional classes available, such as Seamanship, Navigation, Sail, Marine Electronics, Engine Maintenance, Cruise Planning and many more.
